2021 Tri-State Summer Classic Meet 

Overview/Purpose: The Tri-State Summer Classic hosted by Martins Ferry, is a year-end swim meet. As many teams do not have a year-end finale meet or championship meet to help culminate the season, this meet will help serve that function. 

Eligible Teams: This meet is open to YMCA teams, USA teams, summer league teams, rec teams, country club teams, and community pool teams. Eligible Swimmers: This is an age group meet and thus; this meet is only open for 18 and younger swimmers. No college swimmers, master swimmers, coaches, or others permitted. 

Date: Saturday July 24, 2021 

Location: Martins Ferry Pool, 401 South Fourth Street, Martins Ferry, OH (6 lanes, 25 meters; Semi-Automatic Dolphin timing with manual backup) 

Start Time: Warm up times will be determined as soon as all teams are entered with later times being given to the farthest away teams. Coaches meeting will be at 8:50 am. Meet will begin at 9:00 am 

Timers/Officials: Each team will be assigned at least 1 lane to provide timers throughout the day. Lane assignments will be given at a later date. Please have your volunteers report to the blocks prior to the start of the meet for a meeting. We may also ask each team to provide an official for the meet. 

Seeding: This is a pre-seeded event. There will be no deck entries. No times will be accepted. 

Entry Fees: $4 per individual entry. There will be no refunds for entry fees. Make checks payable to the Thompson Park Swim Team (the team will pay entry fees for relays).

Entry Limitations: Each swimmer may swim up to 4 individual events and 2 relays. Full first and last names, and date of births are required. There will be no refunds of entry fees and any errors in submissions of events will be considered scratches. There is no limit to the number of swimmers or relays a team may enter. Three Swimmer relays will be considered Exhibition and will not score. Relay swim ups are permitted.

Deadline: All entries must be received no later than Tuesday July 20, 2021 at 11pm. 

Scoring: Scoring will be from 1st -12th place. Individual/Relay points will be scored through 12 places, relay points are double. Awards: There will be awards for individual high points in each age group. Individual awards will be given for 1st -6 th place. Team and runner-up trophy will also be awarded. 

Age Groups: Boys and girls: 8&U; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14; 15-18. 

Rules: National Federation Rules apply. Logo rules on caps will not be enforced. There will be a meet committee. This committee will be selected at the coaches meeting. Fly over starts will be utilized in events when it is safe and expedient to do so.
